So, the Wage Mage is sitting here with a large hole in her butt. Seriously. It's large enough you could put a decent d20 into it and have room. It's healing nicely now. (It can't be closed because it has to drain.) Interestingly my IBS seems to be at bay. Of course, it may be the metric ton of antibiotics I have coursing through my veins right now, but a small part of me feels the butt now understands what will happen to it if it screws up again.
The butt did not go down without a fight, however. In retaliation for poking it with needles, then a scalpel, and stuffing it with medicated gauze, the butt decided to screw with my immune system. I spent 4 days with a 101.00 fever, lying in my chair, nauseous and in pain. If this was not enough, the butt used its powers to summon "that time of the month" at the same time.
I feel bad for the hubby. At the same time as I was dealing with the butt-mergency, we were moving the Mother in Law into her own place. (Cue the Hallelujah Chorus) My poor hubby was forced to deal with her by himself, as I was too damn sick to even get off the couch, let alone move stuff. She's settled now, but we're not sure how long this is going to last. We're not entirely comfortable with her mental state and her cognition, and hopefully her neurologist will work this out before her next step, which is a nursing home. Those of you who know her would be surprised at her now. She's really not the same person she was a year ago. She knows how to mask the symptoms for a little while, but was not able to hide it from us over two weeks.
Why don't I make festivals? Heh, that's a good question. It seems that every time I try to get money together for a festival or get the time off, something happens so I can't go. Usually, it's a financial crisis, this time it was the butt and the Mother in Law. For some reason, it just never happens. I think the festival gods just have it out for me. I've been trying to make FPG for at least the last few years, and every time something happens. I'm tired of being a responsible adult, as it seems to have a deleterious effect on my social life.
(The rest of the rant is redacted, as it just goes downhill from here. Next time, we'll post about something nicer, like rainbows and kittens.)
